From the famous to the humble, more than 50 bars, cafes and billiard halls in Buenos Aires have received special preservation status from the city for their distinctive architecture or history. The food is home-cooked good, abundant and, with the favorable dollar-to-peso exchange rate, inexpensive. Left, Café de García in the Villa Devoto district opened in 1937.
